This trip takes leads you to the World’s most endangered apes the mountain Gorillas in their natural home in Bwindi forest. Tracking these gentle giants is remarkably the most adventurous tour activity in Uganda and learning about their behavior. Another highlight of this trip is the encounter with the Batwa people the former Bushmen before they were ousted from the forest. Also to look out for are the tree-climbing lions and other game at Queen Elizabeth National Park. There’s no better opportunity to explore the peal of Africa’s treasures like this 5 days trip!
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After an early breakfast, or guide/driver will pick you from the Hotel and drive you to the southwest of Uganda towards Bwindi. The countryside is quite amazing with excellent lush vegetation that creates a fresh breath from the congested cities. You will have a stopover at the Equator for a picture moment and another at Igongo Cultural center for Lunch. You will later proceed to Bwindi through Kabale town arriving at the Hotel in the evening hours. Check-in at the lodge for dinner and night stay.
Day 2: Gorilla tracking
This beautiful day begins with a nice breakfast served at your hotel and your guide will pick you and transfer you to the park headquarters for briefing with other guests on the proper guidelines of Gorilla tracking. You will then be allocated Gorilla families to track and be led to the forest with a team of guides to look for these forest giants. After meeting the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend one full hour in their presence as you ask everything you wish to know. After this exciting moment, you will be led back to the headquarters and then back to the Hotel. You will then head out for a community visit this evening to interact with the locals. Return to the lodge later for dinner and night stay.
Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
You will transfer from Bwindi to Queen Elizabeth National Park after your breakfast at the lodge. This park can be accessed through Kanungu district through Ishasha sector of Queen famously known for the tree-climbing lions. You will arrive at noon and have lunch in the park. We will then have an evening game drive to catch up with games including, Buffaloes, elephants, several antelopes, warthogs, lions, and leopards among others. Return to the lodge after this exciting moment and have your dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Game drive and boat cruise
This day starts with a morning game drive to catch up with the early hunting cuts looking for food. Morning hours are the best time for you to watch the animals since they are most active as they feed before the hot sun of the day. You will also have a chance to watch some of the animals you could have missed the previous day. Return to the lodge for lunch after this great experience and rest for other activities of the day. We will later launch a boat cruise to the Kazinga channel to catch up with the hippos and Nile crocodiles and other animals that come to cool the hot weather on the waters.
Day 5: Return to Kampala/ Entebbe
After this blissful trip at Bwindi and Queen Elizabeth National Parks, you will depart for Entebbe driving straight to the airport or your Hotel. End of the trip.
