Akagera is Rwanda’s hub for most of Rwanda’s unique wildlife including; Giraffes, Buffaloes, Oribis, Lions, leopards, zebras, and elephants among others. This short trip starts in Kigali and ends at Lake Ihema.
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Akagera National Park
You will be received and picked by our local guide on arrival at the Kigali International Airport. You will then be quickly briefed on the program and then transfer to Akagera National Park to your hotel for lunch and relaxation. You will then have an evening game drive to catch up with wildlife including big cats, Zebras, Giraffes, and Buffaloes among others. You will later return to the lodge to chat the evening away, have dinner and night stay at Akagera Game Lodge.
Day 2: Game drive and boat cruise at Lake Ihema
After an early breakfast at the lodge, you will go for a morning game drive at Akagera National Park. Watch out for mammals that you could have missed the previous day like the Topis, oribi, Rhinos, and Lions among others. This is a lifetime experience that any traveler can’t miss, watching the big cats devour the helpless mammals like Buffaloes is a one-time experience. Return to the lodge for lunch and prepare for a boat cruise in the afternoon. Launch a boat cruise at Lake Ihema to catch up with the Hippos, Crocodiles, and several animals coming to cool of the hot weather at the waters. Return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight Akagera Game Lodge.
Day 3: Game drive and Departure
You will check out of the lodge after your breakfast and head to the park for the last short game drive, Have lunch in Kigali city as you proceed to Kigali Airport for your flight.
